(NAC), a leading construction company with over 30 years of experience, recognized the need to revamp its digital presence to better serve its dual audience of prospective clients and potential employees. With an outdated website that no longer reflected the company's growth and expertise, NAC partnered with Cubicle Fugitive to develop a modern, user-friendly site that would effectively communicate its value proposition and attract both business opportunities and top talent.

To meet NAC's objectives, our team comprehensively analyzed their existing online presence, industry competitors, and target audience needs. this research informed the development of a new site structure hat seamlessly address both client and job seeker requirements. Once the proposed navigation was approved, we designed a visually appealing website that incorporated content, design, and technical elements to prioritize user experience or both key audience segments.

Objectives and Challenges

Understanding the unique challenges of the construction industry, we integrated creative design elements to communicate NAC's strength to its distinct audiences effectively. This involved utilizing high-quality imagery of completed projects and ongoing worksites, generating a more engaging visual experience. The website is intentionally image-heavy, showcasing the impressive projects that NAC has successfully built.

Design and Brand Representation

Roboto Condensed is a modern, clean, and highly legible typeface, making it ideal for a construction brand. Its bold, structured design conveys strength and professionalism, while its condensed form ensures efficient use of space. This font is perfect for headlines, navigation, and key brand messaging, reinforcing a solid and trustworthy brand identity in the construction industry. 
NAC's palette was created to blend strength, reliability, and modernity. Prussian Blue conveys trust and professionalism, while Yellow Green adds energy and innovation. Celestial Blue brights clarity, White Smoke ensures balance and readability, and Eerie Black provides depth and contrast. Together, these colours create a bold and dynamic identity for a forward-thinking construction brand.

Enhanced User Experience

A dedicated 'Commitments' section was developed to demonstrate NAC's dedication to Safety, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Quality Work, and People Development. This module incorporates custom illustrations and graphics to effectively communicate these value propositions through both text and visuals.

Likewise, an expanded 'About' module highlights NAC's history, partnership expectations, unique differentiators, Mission, Vision, and Values. It also includes a Team Leadership section to connect with clients and prospective employees better.

Recognizing NAC's dual focus on attracting clients and employees, we developed dedicated sections for each audience:

  • For potential clients, we highlighted NAC's extensive project portfolio, industry expertise, and commitment to safety and quality through the various modules mentioned above.
  • For job seekers, we created an intuitive careers section featuring:
    • A 'Why Join NAC' page
    • Information about Learning and Development Opportunities
    • A page highlighting upcoming Recruitment Events
To ensure easy navigation to the Careers module, we positioned the link at the far-right end of the navigation bar and highlighted it with a box outline, making it stand out compared to other navigation options. This design choice ensures that the Careers section is prominent and easily accessible for prospective employees.
The new website was designed and developed with the goal of creating a seamless user experience for both target audiences. Visitors are greeted with clear navigation options, concise messaging, and prominent calls-to-action (CTAs) tailored to their needs, whether they're looking to hire NAC for a project or join their team.

Backend Improvements

From a backend perspective, we equipped NAC's team with a user-friendly content management system (CMS), allowing them to easily update project portfolios, job listings, and company news. This ensures that the website remains current and continues to serve as an effective tool for both business development and recruitment.
