With its roots dating back to 1884, the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra (HPO) continues to be at the forefront of Hamilton’s arts community. HPO provides professional orchestral services and music education programs to the community, and consistently delivers premier musical experiences to a wide array of audiences. With HPO’s central location, and commitment to community enrichment, they are an integral piece to the continual development and revitalization of Hamilton’s downtown core.
While FirstOntario Concert Hall (formerly Hamilton Place) is home for the HPO, they have also performed at a number of other venues, including the Mohawk College Theatre, McMaster University, Gage Park, Spencer Smith Park in Burlington, and perhaps most famously, in Hamilton’s trademark steel mills.
They offer various concerts and events to appeal to various audiences and are always adding new programming options. Every year you can depend on the HPO to put together a season of powerful, inspiring, and entertaining performances.
