Martin and Hillyer Associates: Advertising
Project
As one of Burlington, Ontario’s largest and longstanding law firms, Martin & Hillyer has grown through reputation and word-of-mouth and has become a well-respected and well-regarded firm within the communities they serve. Martin & Hillyer’s plaintiff personal injury group contacted Cubicle Fugitive to help investigate, articulate and produce a new advertising campaign that is meaningful to current and potential clients and would help them stand out amongst their highly competitive area of law.
As part of this process, Cubicle Fugitive interviewed each of the firm’s ten lawyers to help determine what makes the firm different and why clients choose them over the competition. Cubicle Fugitive also researched the firm’s competitors and discovered many personal injury firms from larger cities were beginning to encroach upon the Burlington market.
Martin & Hillyer’s plaintiff personal injury group contacted Cubicle Fugitive to help investigate, articulate and produce a new advertising campaign that is meaningful to current and potential clients, and would help them stand out amongst their highly competitive area of law.
Martin & Hillyer was looking for a professional, clean, and compassionate campaign that they could proudly share with their communities and peers. Based on our findings, the firm’s competitive advantage is that they genuinely care about their clients and advocate on behalf of their best interests. With this in mind, Cubicle Fugitive conceptualized a campaign around what the firm offers and what it means to a client. The execution of the campaign was fully developed into billboards with the following bold headlines: Knowledge Means Power, Experience Means Results, and Support Means Recovery. The headlines were paired with meaningful photography, clean fonts, and a new palette of jewel-tone colours. Cubicle Fugitive also took this new look and further developed the campaign into other traditional marketing such as newspaper ads, bus ads, and transit ads.
With a successful plaintiff personal injury campaign underway, Martin & Hillyer approached Cubicle Fugitive to create another campaign to promote the firm as a whole. Having discovered the firm’s dedication to their local communities, the new campaign was inspired by the firm’s individualized service, local knowledge, and community connections. Cubicle Fugitive expanded this idea with three new headlines: Local Means Understanding, Local Means Community, and Local Means History. The headlines were paired with local Burlington photography, but following the same layout and design as the campaigns from the previous year.
Cubicle Fugitive also developed a series of billboards and print advertisements for Martin & Hillyer’s co-sponsorship initiative with the Sound of Music Festival and a billboard to wish Burlington Ontario a Happy Holidays.
