Cubicle Fugitive partnered with Lawson Lundell LLP to design and develop a new website that reflects the firm's sophisticated practice, modern sensibility, and deep regional roots. As one of Western and Northern Canada’s leading law firms, Lawson Lundell was focused on reinforcing its position as the law firm of the region. The new site needed to support this goal by delivering a professional, future-ready platform that communicates both depth of expertise and approachability.
Our engagement began with a deep discovery phase, where we conducted stakeholder interviews with committee members and practice area leaders. These conversations helped us uncover the firm’s values, differentiators, target audiences, and strategic priorities. From these insights, we presented key findings and thematic summaries to ensure alignment before moving forward. This collaborative foundation informed the creation of an intuitive site architecture focused on clean, easy navigation for a diverse user base.
In the design phase, the firm tasked us with creating a modern and minimalist look that evolved their existing brand identity without abandoning it. The final design features subtle animations and a refined line motif that visually represents how Lawson Lundell leads clients forward. We also helped craft select messaging, including the homepage copy, to support the firm’s narrative and tone. The use of custom photography throughout adds a warm, approachable feel that balances the site’s professional polish.

A standout feature of the new site is the reimagined lawyer bios. We introduced a clean, structured layout that surfaces key information—photo, contact details, biography, and practice areas—at a glance. Additional related content is tucked into expandable sections, allowing users to dive deeper without being overwhelmed.
To further support the firm’s strategic goals, Lawson Lundell prioritized search engine optimization from the outset. To ensure strong visibility and relevance, we custom wrote meta titles and descriptions for all service pages and key inside pages. This SEO-focused content was tailored to highlight priority practice areas, and improve discoverability for users seeking legal expertise across Western and Northern Canada.
